Practical priorities. Responsible leadership. A stronger Holly.
Holly is a community worth protecting—and a community with real challenges that deserve honest attention. Our priorities are centered on responsible spending, transparent government, a thriving local economy, and the essential services that affect residents every day.
We believe good leadership begins by listening, asking thoughtful questions, and making decisions based on what is best for the people of Holly.
Protecting every taxpayer dollar.
Residents deserve to know that their tax dollars are being managed carefully and used for their intended purpose. We will examine spending, question unnecessary costs, seek competitive funding opportunities, and advocate for responsible long-term planning.
This includes taking a closer look at the Water Department’s rates, reserves, infrastructure needs, and financial practices. Residents deserve clear answers about what they are being charged, where that money is going, and how it is being used to improve the system.
Our priorities include:
• Reviewing expenses and identifying opportunities to reduce costs
• Investigating the water and sewer department while addressing the expired bonds
• Pursuing grants and outside funding for infrastructure and community improvements
• Improving long-term financial planning
• Providing clear explanations of taxes, millages, fees, and utility charges
• Ensuring restricted funds are used only for their authorized purposes
Restoring trust through open government.
Trust is earned when residents are informed, heard, and treated with respect. Village business should be conducted openly, and information should be easy for the public to find and understand.
We will support better communication, accessible public records, meaningful opportunities for resident input, and clear explanations of important decisions. Questions from residents should be welcomed and not dismissed.
Our priorities include:
• Making agendas, supporting documents, financial information, and meeting materials easier to access
• Explaining major decisions in clear, everyday language
• Encouraging meaningful public participation
• Supporting consistent compliance with open-government requirements
• Holding elected and appointed officials accountable to the residents they serve
Helping Holly businesses thrive.
Our local businesses are part of what makes Holly special. A healthy business community creates jobs, strengthens our tax base, fills vacant spaces, and gives residents and visitors more reasons to spend time in Holly.
We want to encourage collaboration among the Village, DDA, business owners, property owners, and community organizations. Holly should be known as a place where responsible investment is welcomed and both new and established businesses have an opportunity to succeed.
Our priorities include:
• Supporting existing businesses and encouraging responsible new investment
• Improving collaboration between the Village, DDA, and business community
• Addressing unnecessary barriers to opening or expanding a business
• Promoting Holly’s historic character, community events, and local destinations
• Encouraging thoughtful development that complements our community
Investing in infrastructure, green spaces, and public safety.
Holly’s character is about more than buildings and boundaries. It is found in our neighborhoods, parks, historic downtown, community traditions, and the people who call Holly home.
Protecting that character requires reliable infrastructure, safe neighborhoods, well-maintained public spaces, and thoughtful planning. We must address today’s needs without losing sight of the long-term impact our decisions will have on future generations.
Our priorities include:
• Developing a realistic plan for aging water and sewer infrastructure
• Seeking grants to reduce the burden placed on residents
• Supporting responsive police, fire, and emergency services
• Maintaining parks, green spaces, roads, sidewalks, and public property
• Preserving Holly’s historic, small-town character
• Listening to residents before making decisions that affect their homes and neighborhoods
We will not pretend that every problem has a quick or easy solution. We will do the work: listen to residents, study the facts, ask difficult questions, and communicate honestly about the choices before us.
Holly deserves leadership that is responsible with public money, accountable to the community, and focused on delivering results.
New leadership. A stronger Holly.
